technical theatre

Our Technical  Theatre Program offers students training and technique in technical design -- scenic, lighting and sound -- to prepare them for the professional theatre industry. Students acquire skills in carpentry, lighting electric set-up, sound fundamentals, and property design  and construction.  Our students design sets, lights and sound for fully realized department productions and move on to work in the industry.

The department of theatre also participates at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) each year in all fields of Performance and Design, Technology, and Management. In the last year, a student scenic designer of a MainStage production reached the regional finals.
