KCACTF 2021: Congratulations Pierce College!

LAPC Theatre

What a year for Pierce College at the 53rd Annual Kennedy Center Region 8 American College Theatre Festival!! For the first time we had 14 students nominated for Irene Ryan Scholarship Awards. And from there our students set Pierce College records with six students moving on to the semi-finals and four of those were chosen as finalists!! Emmanuel Odaibo and Janel "JJ" Javier were awarded the first ever Christopher Clark Classical Acting Awards as part of the Irene Ryan Scholarshop Awards in the final event of an absolutely amazing "virtual" festival. Congratulations to both Emmanuel and JJ!! Also this year we had two design students who were multiple winners! Joyanne Tracy was honored with a Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas Recognition for scenic design and also was the Region 8 national alternate for scenic design, and Scott Kriloff was chosen as the Region 8 national alternate for sound design. Scott also is a CSUN grad student, and received the Institute for Theatre Journalism and Advocacy Regional Award at CSUN. Congratulations to Joyanne and Scott and to all Pierce College students who were nominated and competed in the first (and hopefully last) ever virtual KCACTF Region 8 Festival!!!
